Many people calling can't afford to move in, much less support themselves for the weeks it takes to get a job and begin receiving paychecks.
While we try to take those we can who are come to us penniless, our housing must be self supporting to continue, so unfortunately must turn some people away. But you can make the difference! How It Works
|
STEP 1
We identify men who would normally qualify to become a House Member with us, but are not able to afford the expense it takes to sustain themselves. They are assessed as to whether or not they show the necessary attributes for someone who desperately wants sobriety. |
STEP 2
Once accepted, they must both agree to our accountability process and abide by it daily in order to continue receiving this assistance. In exchange, the fund covers the cost for a max of 4 weeks (2 weeks to find work. 2 weeks to begin receiving paychecks.) |
STEP 3
The Member is required to report proof of all their earnings to us, donating a percentage back until the fund is paid back + $100 This $100 Fund Fee insures that the fund is perpetual by protecting against those who relapse before paying back the fund entirely. |
Our accountability process includes complying with the following requirements as well as proving that compliance to Into Action daily:
- Job Hunting 8:00 - 5:00 (Mon - Fri).
- Submitting a minimum of 10 job applications per day.
- Following house rules, including meetings, working with sponsor, & step work.
When you click on the button, it will take you to our storefront. It is setup to take donations in $10 increments. So just select the quantity you desire.
3 out of 4 men who call can't afford the move in fee.
On average, it costs a new house member $500 from the day he moves in to the day he receives his first paycheck.

Perpetual Action Fund Snapshot
An average example of how it works.
Day 1
House manager and other members assists the new member with obtaining:
Day 2 - Starting a Job
(They're only required to do this Mon - Fri)
Day 10
When following our job hunting plan, on average it takes our men 3 days (non-felons) and 1.5 weeks (felons) to find jobs.
Day 28
Our man has started his job, received his first paycheck. He is no longer supported by the fund, but rather by his word he will pay back the house for his living space.
Day 42
By the 2nd paycheck, he has begun paying back the fund! Smaller increments at first, followed by a larger amounts as he stabilizes.
Day 70
He has received two more paychecks, is keeping up with his weekly Membership Fee and continues to pay back the fund.
Day 98
Most Members will have completed paying back the fund by this time and is now working on putting that extra money towards cleaning up other debts, including paying off the $100 Fund Fee. Not every Member makes it. That would normally deplete our Perpetual Action Fund. However, because Members agree to pay back an additional $100, this ensures against those who don't make it, by keeping the fund alive for the next man who needs it.

Day 1
House manager and other members assists the new member with obtaining:
- Government subsidized cell phone
- State Identification
- Food Stamps
- Appropriate Job Hunting Attire from our Donations Closet
- An Action Plan: Includes providing them with helpful hints on job hunting for both felons and non-felons.
Day 2 - Starting a Job
(They're only required to do this Mon - Fri)
- Job hunting begins by 8:00am each day.
- 10 job application submissions per day. (our current house record is 20 in one day)
- Accountability occurs by providing the house manager with cell phone pics showing the filled out application in the location it is being turned into. (Example: If filling out an application at the flower show, the Member takes a photo of the filled out application with the flower shop in the background so we know they were there, filled it out, and therefore turned it in.)
