The Program
According to the Big Book of Alcoholics Anonymous, "Unless this person can experience an entire psychic change there is very little hope of his recovery." (Big Book Pg xxix)
So, while we require that our members regularly attend AA meetings like other sober living, we feel that true "sober living" falls short if that's as far as it goes. So in addition to meeting attendance, we also require our members to get AND UTILIZE a sponsor, as well as work the steps, eventually becoming ready to begin sponsoring new people themselves as soon as they are ready. Because one alcoholic helping another is the real medicinal affect that ensures continual sober living!

Verified Meeting Attendance
Meetings are one of the building blocks of a healthy recovery program. Meetings help create a network of support, a pipeline for recovery education and wisdom, and an outlet for social interaction and fun. Service Work
Ultimately, the goal is to remain sober and grow in our recovery. To do this, we help our members grow in their ability to be of service to others in AA, the house, and the community. Employment
Residents are required to work full time (or the equivalent of full time), which may take the form of full time work or a combination of part time work, and/or school, and/or volunteer work. *If attending school as part of this full time work requirement, students must maintain a 3.5 minimum GPA at all times. Drug and Alcohol Testing
Drug tests occur a minimum of once per week. Plus for our newer members, we utilize the strongest drug test available which tests for 14 different categories of drugs as well as testing for multiple adulterants (adulterants are various items / methods used to try and foil drug tests). Alcohol breathalyzer tests are conducted daily. |
Obtain and Fully Utilize a Sponsor
Our residents agree to obtain a sponsor within 7 days. (The new member will have plenty of opportunities to find one in that time frame.) How do we maintain accountability on this? To be a 'house approved sponsor', the member must give permission to the sponsor to answer 3 questions to our house manager should we call. Those questions are:
Phase Based Results
When a member first arrives he is at "Phase 1" out of 5 total phases. We have a phase based system in which, through various required actions ranging from working their steps to obtaining a drivers license, the member proves they are capable and ready for more freedom's, privledges, and responsibilities. Accountability
This is one of the primary functions of Into Action. We don't stop at drug testing. We work directly with each member weekly to make sure they are on the right path, are investing in their own recovery, are being truthful about their actions, and are truly living in sobriety vs. just living "dry". |
Action Fact
50% of our members come to Into Action after having a prior relapse at non-structure based sober living. CLICK HERE TO BEGIN!
